Jan 8 (Reuters) – Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd has paused a few of its cruise operations amid rising numbers of COVID-19 infections because of the Omicron variant.
The sailings of three ships – Serenade of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas – have been paused whereas the return of its Imaginative and prescient of the Seas to cruising has been postponed to March 7, 2022, the cruise line stated in a press release on Friday.
“We remorse having to cancel our friends’ long-awaited holidays and recognize their loyalty and understanding,” the corporate including that these measures have been carried out “in an abundance of warning.”
Earlier this week, Royal Caribbean referred to as off its Spectrum of the Seas cruise for Jan. 6 after 9 friends on its Jan. 2 journey had been recognized as shut contacts to a neighborhood Hong Kong COVID-19 case.
The contacts have examined unfavourable however the cruise ship will return to Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Hong Kong on Jan. 5 to check all friends and crew who should take a second take a look at on Jan. 8, the corporate stated.
