A suspect has been arrested within the killing of Jacqueline Avant, the Beverly Hills Police Division introduced in a press convention Thursday.
Police arrested Aariel Maynor, 29, who allegedly shot and killed Avant after breaking into her Beverly Hills residence early Wednesday morning. Avant was the spouse of music business legend Clarence Avant, the mom of Democratic fundraiser Nicole Avant and the mother-in-law of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.
A number of cameras caught Maynor’s car driving east out of Beverly Hills after the taking pictures. Round 3:30 a.m., Hollywood police responded to a reported taking pictures within the 6000 block of Graciosa Drive. There, they discovered Maynor, who had by chance shot himself within the foot throughout a housebreaking on the residence. He was arrested by LAPD and stays in custody. Beverly Hills detectives have taken on each instances and located the suspected weapon utilized by Maynor. Police consider he’s the one suspect concerned and are investigating his motive.
Beverly Hills police obtained a name at 2:23 a.m. saying that Avant had been shot within the 1100 block of Maytor Place within the Trousdale Estates space. A non-public safety guard, who was unharmed, was at Avant’s residence on the time of the incident. Avant was later taken by Beverly Hills paramedics to Cedars-Sinai Medical Middle, the place she died. She was 81.
Avant was identified for her philanthropic work, together with serving on the board of administrators of UCLA’s Worldwide Pupil Middle and as president of the Neighbors of Watts.
After information of Avant’s tragic demise broke on Wednesday morning, Hollywood figures, musicians, politicians and extra shared tributes to her.
“Jackie Avant was an exquisite girl, an ideal companion to Clarence and mom to Alex and Nicole, an energetic citizen and an expensive pal to Hillary and me for 30 years,” President Invoice Clinton tweeted. “She impressed admiration, respect and affection in everybody who knew her. We’re heartbroken. She will likely be deeply missed.”
Tavis Smiley, Reginald Hudlin, Donna Brazile, Diane Warren, Viola Davis, Stevie Marvel and Magic Johnson have been amongst those that shared their condolences. Tyler Perry pledged that “each obtainable useful resource will likely be used to seek out whoever is chargeable for this terrible nightmare.”
